How to convert JPG to ICO
- Choose a JPG or JPEG file and wait for its preview to appear.
- ICO is already selected. Select Convert to ICO to create your image.
- Download the ICO file and check its appearance in the app or website where you plan to use it.
Use a JPG or JPEG image as an ICO icon with several square sizes. The photograph keeps its background; fitting a non-square source adds transparent padding rather than stretching or cropping it.
What changes in your image
Your JPG file
JPG and JPEG are two filename extensions for the same format. Both are accepted here. Re-encoding cannot restore details already lost to JPEG compression.
Your ICO result
ICO output contains 16, 32, 48 and 256 px PNG frames. Each frame keeps the source proportions with transparent padding; larger source images are resized and small inputs may be upscaled.
Original metadata is removed. Keep your original file if you need camera details, color profiles or an archival copy. Conversion does not guarantee a smaller download.
