How to convert JPG to WebP
- Choose a JPG or JPEG file and wait for its preview to appear.
- WebP is already selected. Adjust the quality, then select Convert to WebP.
- Download the WebP file and check its appearance in the app or website where you plan to use it.
Create a WebP version of a JPEG photo for a compatible website. Compare detail at the chosen quality before replacing the original: an additional lossy encoding step can introduce artifacts, even when the file gets smaller.
What changes in your image
Your JPG file
JPG and JPEG are two filename extensions for the same format. Both are accepted here. Re-encoding cannot restore details already lost to JPEG compression.
Your WebP result
WebP output supports transparency and uses adjustable lossy quality in this tool. A smaller download is possible but depends on the input and quality setting.
Original metadata is removed. Keep your original file if you need camera details, color profiles or an archival copy. Conversion does not guarantee a smaller download.
