A poster and an email can point to the same page while still needing separate campaign labels. UTM parameters add those labels to a URL. Minutil can build the tagged link and pass it into the QR generator; your destination website's analytics system handles the visit reporting.
Choose labels you can reuse consistently
Decide what each field means before making several versions. Use the same spelling and capitalization throughout the campaign. Different values can create separate rows in your analytics reports.
A custom medium such as qr is your own label, not a promise that an analytics platform will automatically assign it to a built-in channel. Check your reporting setup before distributing the campaign.
- Source: where the visit originates, such as a newsletter or a particular poster placement.
- Medium: the delivery method, such as email or a custom value for printed material.
- Campaign: the shared initiative, such as autumn_open_day.
- Content: an optional way to distinguish two placements or designs in the same campaign.

Build the link and make the QR
Open UTM link builder
Paste the complete destination into Website URL, including https://. Use a page you control or know will remain available.
Enter campaign details
Fill in Source, Medium and Campaign. Add Content if you need to distinguish placements. Review the generated URL for spelling and the correct destination.
Choose Create QR from this link
This action opens QR code generator with the tagged URL already filled in. Check the preview, colors and output size before downloading.
Download and scan-test
Save PNG or SVG, scan it on another device and confirm the expected page opens. Test a printed sample at the actual intended size before distributing copies.
A tagged URL does not create an analytics account
UTM tags identify campaign information to an analytics system that supports them. Your destination still needs a working analytics setup. Verify a test visit there, and check whether redirects preserve the parameters.
Minutil's static QR does not count scans, show a campaign dashboard or provide a redirect service. Reported landing-page visits also are not a complete count of camera scans: someone can scan without opening the link, and browser privacy settings can affect measurement.
Before sharing the campaign
- Do not put passwords, email addresses or other personal data in UTM fields. The values are visible in the URL and can reach logs and analytics.
- Keep a small record of each placement and its exact labels so later reports are understandable.
- The QR stores the generated URL. Editing the fields later does not change a printed code; replacing its encoded destination requires a new QR.
- The static code itself does not expire, but its destination can stop working. Keep the linked page available for as long as the printed material is in use.
